With such a diverse range of products available, Brewers Decorating Centre’s are awash with everything the painter and decorator could need to tackle the deep end of any job.

When applying specialist coatings, such as those for use on swimming pools, Brewers can keep you afloat with the information and advice to give the optimum effect and ensure a lasting finish.

Swimming pools create unique conditions for decorating.

In particular, swimming pools create unique conditions, not just in terms of product application but also the environment the paint needs to endure. Because of this the paint system needs to be specific for the job and steps taken to ensure the substrate is suitably prepared before application.

As a final protective layer, Chlorinated rubber paint is a flexible, chemical resistant coating which is retardant to water in both acid and alkaline conditions, often with the added benefit of resisting fungal growth so perfect for swimming pools and ponds.

Chlorinated rubber paint can be found from brands such as Rust-Oleum, Bradite and Chlorvar, all in a gloss finish and a select choice of colours and all available from Brewers.

Swimming pool and pond paints are not waterproofing products, they are the decorative layer.

It is worth bearing in mind time frames after application as swimming pools and other under water systems have to dry/cure for up to 14 days before they can be immersed in water. Early contact with water can actually cause premature fading, chalking and blistering so it’s important to factor in this time to the job.

It’s also worth noting that many swimming pool and pond paints are not waterproofing products, they are the decorative layer so the substrate (in particular concrete) would need to waterproofed before application.

Brewers also supply a great range of waterproofing products and your local branch would be more than happy to offer expert advice to find the right product for your specific project needs.
